Scoring Instructions
The scoring meaning is based on a 1 to 7 range. The midpoint is 4.00, which represents a neutral or inconsistent baseline.
1.00 – 2.99 (Low Resource Level): Indicates a significant deficit in the psychological assets needed for grit. Individuals in this range likely struggle to stay motivated, feel easily discouraged by failure, and may lack a clear sense of direction or interest in their pursuits.
3.00 – 4.99 (Moderate Resource Level): Represents the "average" or "neutral" range. A score of 4.00 is the midpoint. This indicates a person has some foundational grit but may be inconsistent, showing great passion one day but struggling to maintain it when the workload becomes monotonous or difficult.
5.00 – 7.00 (High Resource Level): Indicates a robust psychological toolkit. Scores in this range suggest the individual has the mental frameworks (Hope, Interest, Purpose, and Practice) necessary to sustain effort and interest over years, not just weeks.
