Automated thoughts questionnaire (ATQ)

The Automatic Thoughts Questionnaire (ATQ) is a psychometrically validated self-report instrument designed to measure the frequency and believability of automatic negative and positive thoughts. Developed originally by Steven D. Hollon and Philip C. Kendall in 1980, the scale captures the covert cognitive dialogue that occurs spontaneously in response to daily stressors, failure, or negative events.
